Judo Festivals are designed to give young players a relaxed introduction to the competitive side of judo. The event will be limited to players from Clyde Judo and other local clubs and all referees and officials will be older players and coaches from the club to provide a familiar atmosphere.
Eligibility
This is a development event, and so for all categories: no Gold / Silver medallists at any Grand Prix event may enter, and no Scottish Champions or above.
Weigh in times
Weigh in times will be staggered throughout the day starting with the youngest groups from around 10am and moving up the age groups as the day goes on. More details will be released closer to the competition date.
Under 8s
All players aged 5 to 7 years on the day. Players will be grouped into pools of four and given at least three 'referee led' randori (practice) sessions. All players will receive a medal.
AA-Band (2016, 2017 & 2018 - 8+)
A-Band (2014 & 2015)
Pre-Cadet (2012 & 2013)
All players aged 8 to 14 years on the day. Players will be grouped into pools of four and given a minimum of three contests where the focus will be on mat time and learning the basics of competition, coached by a referee. All players will receive a medal.
Spectators
Spectators are more than welcome, but please remember this event is an inter-club 'friendly' and all encouragement must be positive.
