Date: Tuesday 21st April
Time: 7pm - 8pm
This training is free to all senior club members!
Suitable for anyone looking to learn basic CPR and defibrillator use or as a refresher course if you have completed this course or a full First Aid course previously.
Defibrillator training, including basic life support, will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively if someone has a cardiac arrest. Delegates will learn how to operate a defibrillator and how to perform effective CPR.
Each year over 40,000 people have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK. Less than 1 in 10 survive. Giving CPR promptly and using a defibrillator can more than double the chances of survival.
The club have a shared access defibrillator which can be found at the rear the Scout Hall across the road from the club and is accessible by a code known by our coaches and accessible to 999 dispatchers.
Topics covered include:
Chest pains
Getting to know the defibrillator (any type)
Managing an emergency
Operating the defibrillator
Resuscitation (CPR)
Role of the first aider
Treatment of an unresponsive casualty
